Maureen Stringer: Director |
Maureen studied Cello at the Royal college of Music, London, and the Chigiana in Sienna.
She subsequently became a member of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Scottish Baroque Ensemble.
After 20 years of professional playing and teaching, she founded Stringers in 1992.

Ellie read music at New College, Oxford and subsequently went on to work in orchestral management with the English Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Glyndebourne Opera.
Most recently she spent two years as the Administrative Director of the Opera House Orchestra in Santiago, Chile.
Ellie was appointed Manager of Stringers in London in March 2009 and her principal instrument is cello.

Ian Byrne-Brito: Assistant Manager / Viola Specialist |
|
Ian was born in the UK but brought up in Spain. He graduated as a performer and teacher from The Hague Royal Conservatory and went on to complete a masters at the Royal Academy of Music in London where he studied with Jim Sleigh.
Since graduating, Ian has developed a successful international performing career and has won several prestigious awards and scholarships.
He continues to perform and teach alongside his role as Assistant Manager and Viola Specialist with Stringers in London, a role he took up in February 2013.

Cecily McMahon: Violin Specialist |
|
Cecily holds a BMus in performance from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music as well as her Licentiate and Associate Music Awards on both violin and viola with distinction.
Cecily has toured with orchestras and ensembles throughout Europe and Asia, and worked as a performer and teacher in Sydney, Hong Kong and London.
Alongside her work as a professional string player, Cecily has been the Violin Specialist at Stringers in London since May 2011.

Katri Patel: Cello Specialist |
|
Katri grew up in Finland and studied the cello at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.
Having established herself as a cellist in Finland, Katri moved to the UK in 1998 to take up a position with the Royal National Scottish Orchestra.
She started working part time for Stringers in London in March 2012 and continues to teach and perform alongside her work at Stringers.

Anna Morrison: Cello Consultant |
|
Anna studied cello at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music.
She is now a successful freelance cellist and cello teacher in London (Anna is available by appointment only). |

Emily Francis: Cello Assistant / Education Department Manager |
|
Emily started learning the cello at the age of six and won a scholarship to study at the Purcell School only a year later. She went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London and has learnt with Robert Max and David Strange amongst other renowned cellists.
Emily studied at the Paris Conservatoire as part of an Erasmus Exchange, and she has won prizes at various prestigious festivals and competitions across the UK.
Emily took up her full time role as Cello Assistant / Education Department Manager at Stringers in London in February 2013.

Ruari Cocks: Administrator |
|
Ruari grew up in Staffordshire and studied Politics at Queen Mary College, University of London.
After graduating in 2008 he worked for an accountancy firm in London whilst studying for his ACA qualification.
Ruari took up the position of Administrator with Stringers in London in September 2012 and he continues studying part time for his final exams alongside this full time position.

Julia Schanzenbach: Bow Restorer |
|
Julia studied at the prestigious bow making school in Cremona, after which she worked alongside Emilio Slaviero making and restoring bows.
She was subsequently employed by the workshops of Erhard Buntrock and Rainer Krause in Germany before returning to Cremona in 1996 to set up her own workshop and teach at the evening bow making course.
Julia has been working as the Senior bow restorer at Stringers in London since November 2010. |

Sarah Beaton: Senior Luthier |
|
Sarah studied violin making and restoration at the highly acclaimed Newark School of violin making.
Sarah worked as a luthier in Toronto and New York before moving to England in 2007. She started working as a part time Senior Luthier for Stringers in London in September 2012. |
